The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the cancellation of controversial questions in class X English subject paper. The board has taken this decision after raising questions regarding this decision. CBSE has announced to cancel the controversial questions and give full marks to the students in lieu of them. Regarding these questions, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had targeted the Modi government and asked to apologize. Raising this issue in the Lok Sabha, Sonia Gandhi called the questions to promote conservative thinking and said that women are shown as inferior to men in this. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also accused the government of being anti-women regarding this issue, while Rahul Gandhi called it the thinking of the RSS-BJP crushing the future of the youth.
Question came in 10th class English language and literature paper
CBSE has said in the order that a passage in the English language and literature paper in the first term examination of class 10 held on December 11 is not as per the guidelines of the board. Based on the feedback received from the stakeholders in ACE, the matter was referred to the subject matters committee and on the basis of its recommendations, passage number 1 in the question paper series JSK/1 and its related questions were canceled and all the students were asked for that passage. It has been decided to award full marks. Apart from this, full marks for passage number 1 will also be given to all the children for other series of papers of English language and literature so that there is no discrimination.
