Bhusaval: There is sudden zero load shedding for the last five days without any notice from the Velhale sub station of the taluka. Due to this there was no water supply for agriculture, due to which the crop has suffered heavy losses. The farmers staged a sit-in at Velhale sub-station. He warned that if the compensation for the crop was not given, then after 8 days the agitation would be started in the Tehsil office. During this, a farmer tried to commit suicide by holding an electric wire in his hand, however, as soon as the matter came to light, other farmers reached the spot and stopped him from touching the power line.
It may be noted that there are 3 feeders at Velhale sub station. Electricity is supplied to Velhale, Shindi and Deepnagar recovery water supply for agriculture.

Due to zero load shedding for agriculture and village power supply for last 5 days without any prior notice, onion, banana and summer crops are getting damaged due to strong sunlight. Due to which farmers Vijay Patil, Ashok Shinde, Praveen Patil, Sandeep Chaudhary Shindi, Sarpanch Kiran Jadhav, Mondhale Sarpanch Jagan Koli along with other farmers reached Velhale sub-station and agitated against the policy of electricity department.

MLA discussed with officers
As soon as the information of the movement was received, MLA Sanjay Savkare reached the spot and discussed with the Executive Engineer GT Mahajan, Deputy Executive Engineer DP Dhande, Assistant Engineer Akhilesh Kumar Kushwaha, Kavita Sonawane, in-charge of the electricity distribution company. Instructed the farmers to restore the power supply immediately to supply water to the crops. The engineer said that the problems have arisen due to zero load shedding from the senior level. Failure to follow the above instructions would result in complete system collapse, leading to zero load shedding, however, they called off the agitation after farmers were assured that at least 8 out of 24 hours should be provided for power supply to the fields. Demand to start single phase scheme
The single phase scheme in Velhale village has been discontinued. The villagers demanded that this scheme should be started immediately. Company officials said the scheme cannot be taken up as the single phase scheme requires a circuit, which is not available. MLA Sanjay Savkare agreed to provide the fund and instructed to provide it soon.
The sudden imposition of heavy regulation has caused huge losses to agricultural commodities. The farmers warned that immediate compensation should be given through Panchnama, otherwise within 8 days there would be agitation in the Tehsil office in the scorching sun, for which the entire revenue and electricity distribution company would be responsible.
