All political parties believe that elections to the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, Zilla Parishad, Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti will not be conducted until the OBC reservation issue is resolved by the Supreme Court. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s cabinet has also decided to stop the elections for 6 months. The bill passed by the cabinet has been sent to the Election Commission. The decision of the Election Commission will be final. Electoral pundits say that if the Election Commission accepts the bill passed by the cabinet, then the election of Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation will also be postponed, due to which the government may have to appoint an administrator in Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation like other municipalities.
