One of such accidents was Llandow Air Disaster. It was an aircraft accident, which took place in Wales in Britain in 1950. The accident was so fatal that even after seven decades, people have not been able to forget it. The aircraft, called Avro Tudor V, was privately booked for transporting people from the Rugby Union to the International Games in Ireland and back from there.
No one had any idea that the aircraft would not land the right advice after taking a return flight. First the plane suddenly stopped in the middle of the air and then crashed on the ground. This accident happened on this day i.e. March 12 in the year 1950. It was an aircraft of the Airflight Limited Company, which operated under the name of Fairlight. The aircraft took off from Dublin Airport in Ireland and was to land at Llandow Air Station in South Wales.
The aircraft was booked for 72 people
At the time of the accident, there were 78 passengers and five crew members. The flight was privately booked to travel to Belfast to watch the Wales Rugby Union team against Ireland at the Five Nations Championship at Ravenhill Stadium. Although it was booked for 72 people, but then six more people also boarded it. According to the information, the weather was clear at that time. There was no problem in other similar aircraft as well.
How did the accident happen?
Witnesses reported after the accident that the Avro Tudor aircraft was landing at a low altitude on runway 28 of the Llandow Aerodrome at 3.05 in the afternoon. The pilot tried to take off the aircraft properly by increasing the engine power and brought the aircraft up to the top. The aircraft moved forward 100 meters and was in a 35 degree angle, when it suddenly stopped. Its right wingtip first hit the ground, then hit the aircraft nose and then the left wing. After this, the plane moved downwards and finally fell into a field near the park. At that time there was neither an explosion nor a fire.

What was the reason for the accident?
80 people died in this accident, while three people were left alive. Two of these survivors were sitting on additional seats, while one fell unconscious in the toilet. He had to spend four months in the hospital. Eight other people who were injured died during treatment in the hospital. After which the figures were released that a total of 80 people have died, of which 75 are passengers and five crew members. It was said to be the deadliest accident in the air at that time. Later, when it was investigated, it was found that the accident occurred due to overloading.
