The state’s contest for the following legal professional basic grew easier Wednesday, when Quentin Palfrey joined Andrea Campbell in Boston to declare he was leaving the race and endorsing her.
“Andrea’s lived experience has shaped her in ways that allow her to connect with families across our Commonwealth. Her devotion to public service is admirable. She will continue the legacy of Maura Healey and be a fighter for justice for all,” Palfrey stated.
The former Boston City Council Member now has solely labor lawyer Shannon Liss-Riordan to deal with within the September main. The winner of the first race will face Republican Cape Cod lawyer Jay McMahon, who’s working unopposed in his main.
Palfrey stated that he’s supporting Campbell, regardless of months of slinging mud at her for her affiliation with a Super PAC shaped to assist her candidacy for mayor, as a result of he is aware of what it takes to do the job and that she will do it.
“As a former Assistant Attorney General, I am confident that Andrea has the experience to succeed on day one. I know she will be an AG who shows up, listens to our community, and does everything she can to protect and advocate for the people of Massachusetts,” he stated.
Liss-Riordan’s marketing campaign just isn’t happy with Palfrey’s sudden flip to Campbell ally. The pair of them had met in Boston months again to signal a “people’s pledge” swearing off company donors, although self-funded multimillionaire Liss-Riordan didn’t want the skin cash.
“It’s disappointing that Quentin Palfrey would choose petty insider politics over people. His campaign claimed to value putting experience to work for Massachusetts and fighting for progressive policies. It’s a shame he’s willing to throw that away to curry favor with political elites.” Jordan Meehan, Liss-Riordan’s marketing campaign supervisor, stated in response to Palfrey’s endorsement.
