Shah tweeted, “No nation can progress without the contribution of selfless individuals who work tirelessly to serve the society. Congratulations to all those who have been announced to be conferred with the Padma Awards. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is committed to honoring our real heroes.”

He made a special mention of the late BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and former Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh, saying that he “dedicated his entire life in the interest of the country”. He said that Singh, being the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, gave fear-free and public welfare administration to the people. Shah tweeted, “Narendra Modi ji’s announcement of conferring him with Padma Vibhushan is a true tribute to the great and dedicated life of Babuji.”
He also remembered India’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, who died in a helicopter crash along with his wife and 12 other army personnel in Tamil Nadu last month. He said, “India’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat was an exceptional patriot who served the country with full devotion and dedication.”
He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has honored his service to the country in the true sense by announcing that he would be conferred with Padma Vibhushan. For this, I congratulate Modi ji on behalf of the country. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the President has approved the conferment of 128 Padma Awards.
