Joe Biden said, “Today I am setting a second goal and that is that we will give vaccines to 200 million people in the first 100 days of our term.”
US President Joe Biden has set a goal of intensifying the ongoing vaccination campaign against Corona virus infection. Biden has said that now his goal is to give Corona vaccine to 200 million people in his first 100 days while working as a President. He announced this in his first official press conference on Thursday after becoming President.
Biden said, “Today I am setting a second goal and that is that we will give vaccine to 200 million people in the first 100 days of our tenure. I know this is ambitious, twice our original goal. But no other country has even come close to what we are doing and I am confident that we can do it. “
So far, about 13 million doses of the Corona vaccine have been given in the US. According to American health experts, at present, about 25 people are being vaccinated every day. At the same time, after an extraordinary public confrontation with US officials, AstraZeneca insisted that her COVID-19 vaccine is highly effective, despite counting additional cases in a disputed US study.
AstraZeneca said in a press release that it recalculated the study’s data and came to the conclusion that the vaccine is effective in up to 76 percent of cases of corona virus infection that have symptoms of infection. In a study conducted earlier this week, it claimed that up to 79 percent of the vaccine was effective.
A day earlier, an independent committee analyzing the study accused AstraZeneca of hiding the data. The committee said in a strong letter to the company and US health officials that the company has dropped some COVID-19 cases mentioned in the study.
