Nagpur. In view of the threat of Omicron, the state government has again decided to keep everything closed at night. Now the order of ‘Night Lockdown’ has been issued by the District Magistrate and Municipal Commissioner in Pur district including Nagpur City. Jamabandi has been implemented from December 24 from 9 pm to 6 am. The number of attendance has also been limited again on all types of functions and events.
The said order has been issued to prevent the increasing infection of Corona, which came into effect from the night of 24 December. In view of the increasing cases of Omicron in the states of the country including countries around the world, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has taken the above decision. For the last 2 days, more than 1000 positives are being found in a day in the state. The danger can be more due to the increase in the crowd in Christmas, wedding, New Year celebrations, so there has been a ban on crowding.

In the entire district including the city, from 9 pm to 6 am, more than 5 people have been banned from gathering at one place. In the marriage ceremony, not more than 100 people will be present in the auditorium at a time, while in the open space there should not be more than 150 or else 25 percent of the capacity of the place, whichever is less, it will be applicable. In other social, political, religious programs also there will not be more than 100 attendance. In open spaces, 25% of the capacity or whichever is less than 250 will be applicable. Where there is a provision of seats, only 50 percent attendance will be valid.
Sports events also affected
In any kind of sports event etc., the attendance of only 25 percent people will be allowed from the capacity of the venue. Only 50 percent attendance will be allowed in restaurants, gyms, spas, talkies, theaters. Action will be taken against those who violate the rules as per rules under the Disaster Act. Due to this night lockdown, the New Year festival is going to be greatly affected. Preparations for New Year celebrations were going on in many hotels, lances, restaurants etc. in the city. But after the order to shut everything down at 9 pm, the enthusiasm has cooled down.
