Akola. Akola, Washim, Buldhana Local Swaraj Sanstha Legislative Council elections were held here today, in which Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Vasant Khandelwal won by 109 votes. Voting for this election was held on December 10, in which 808 out of 822 voters had voted. Counting of votes took place today in which BJP candidate Vasant Khandelwal got 443 votes and Maha Vikas Aghadi’s candidate Shiv Sena leader Gopikisan Bajoria got 334 votes. 31 out of 808 votes were declared invalid.
It is worth mentioning that Gopikisan Bajoria was representing this constituency as Shiv Sena MLA for the last three terms. This time he had to face a crushing defeat. In this constituency, there are a total of 822 voters in all the three districts, in which 250 of BJP, 134 of Shiv Sena, 193 of Congress, 84 of NCP, 89 of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and other 70 voters include MIM, Independents and other Aghadis.
In this situation, the road to victory was not easy for the BJP, yet the BJP candidate has won by 109 votes. District Magistrate and District Election Decision Officer Neema Arora announced the victory of Vasant Khandelwal and was given a certificate of victory. Chief Election Inspector Dr. Dilip Pandharpatte was prominently present on this occasion.
