New Delhi: The AIIMS Delhi Resident Doctors Association (RDA) on Tuesday (28 December) called off its strike scheduled for 29 December. An official statement issued by the RDA said that, assuring that the NEET PG 2021 counseling will be conducted at the earliest, AIIMS Delhi RDA on Tuesday decided to withdraw the strike decision on 29 December. He has also said that all services will continue as normal.

He has also said that the RDA continues to support the interests of the protesting doctors and will act hurriedly in this regard if the officials do not keep their promises.
Earlier today, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya met a delegation of Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) to hear their issues and urged them to call off the strike in the larger interest of the public. The Union Health Minister said, ‘I held a meeting with all the resident doctors. We are not able to do counseling as the matter is sub judice in the Supreme Court. The hearing will take place on January 6. I hope NEET PG counseling will start soon.

It is noteworthy that the protest by the resident doctors took a violent turn on Monday after a face-off with the Delhi Police. The protesting doctors had alleged that they were brutally beaten up and dragged by the Delhi Police personnel. However, the police on Tuesday ruled out “force or lathi-charge” against the doctors.
