After all United Airlines’ departures had been stopped throughout the U.S. on the day after Labor Day, flights resumed because the airline mounted a “technology issue.”
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., United despatched out an alert of a nationwide floor cease.
“We are experiencing a systemwide technology issue and are holding all aircraft at their departure airports,” United tweeted. “Flights which are already airborne are persevering with to their vacation spot as deliberate.
“We will share more information as it becomes available,” the airline added. “Thank you for your patience as we work on a resolution to get you on your way as soon as possible.”
United requested the Federal Aviation Administration to pause the airline’s departures nationwide, based on the FAA.
Then lower than a hour later, United lifted the bottom cease for the U.S. and Canada.
“We have identified a fix for the technology issue and flights have resumed,” United tweeted. “We’re working with impacted customers to help them reach their destinations as soon as possible.”
The floor cease lasted for lower than an hour, leading to “no big impacts,” based on a spokesperson for Massport at Boston Logan International Airport.
According to the web site FlightAware, greater than 100 flight delays had been reported at Boston Logan as of two:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eight of these delays had been United flights, whereas 32 of the delays had been JetBlue flights.
