Gadchiroli, Pushkar fair is being organized from April 13 on Pranahita river of Sironcha tehsil, known as the second Maha Kumbh of the country. Lakhs of devotees from neighboring Telangana and Chhattisgarh states, including Maharashtra state, show their presence in this fair. After bathing in Pranhita river, one takes darshan of the temple located at Kaleshwar. Preparations have been started by the district administration in the context of this Pushkar Mela, which is organized once in every 12 years. The devotees coming to the fair should not face any kind of inconvenience, so the work of providing facilities is being done very fast. Apart from this, the district administration is welcoming the devotees coming to the fair by doing various works.
Work started from three months ago
After a period of 12 years, the Pushkar fair is going to be organized on the Pranhita river. In view of this, the work of providing service facilities has started here since last three months. In which the District Collector Sanjay Meena has given information about preparing a place for the devotees on the river bank, preparing a sanitation house, water management, power supply and other necessary planning. Especially the planning has been done in coordination with the Telangana administration. At the same time, after discussing with the temple manager, the route for the movement of devotees has been decided.
Big relief to the devotees due to the construction of a culvert
Earlier, during the Pushkar fair held in 2010, there was no culvert over Pranahita river for devotees coming from Telangana and Maharashtra. Due to which the devotees coming from both the states had to face great problems. But due to the construction of a culvert over the river during this period, there is a possibility of an increase in the number of devotees in the Pushkar fair this year. In particular, the yatra has been planned according to about 5 lakh devotees.
Guardian Minister Shinde gave 10 crores for Pushkar Fair
State’s Urban Development Minister and District Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde had spoken to him about giving Rs 10 crore from the district planning fund for the Pushkar fair. Due to which the said fund helped in providing necessary service facilities. Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde discussed with the local administration as well as the district administration after meeting several times in the context of preparations. A proposal to include 6 places in the A category tourism list in the district has been passed on 18 January 2022. In which the Pushkar fair is held at the place, Sironcha Ghat, Nagaram Ghat and Tekada Ghat of Pranahita river have been included. Due to which tourism related work will be done at the respective place in future.
Various service facilities available for devotees
There is a river ghat for bathing on Pranahita river at two places adjacent to Sironcha city. One Vitthaleshwar temple is nearby and the other is near Nagaram. At both these places, there is no inconvenience to the devotees coming during Pushkar, so CCTV cameras have been installed at both the places including police post, control room. To keep control in the Pushkar context, tents of various departments of the administration have been set up. Facility of electronic boat has been made available. A cement road has been prepared on the river ghat along with drinking water facility at both the places. 5 highmasts including about 60 lights have been installed. 20 tents have been set up for administration and health facilities.
