New Delhi: The sub-divisional magistrate of Vasant Vihar in the national capital has ordered a restaurant owner to cancel the concert of singer AP Dhillon on Saturday and said It is said that the event is in violation of the DDMA guidelines.
The sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), in its December 17 order, has also directed the owners to “submit a reply on concealment of facts and furnishing false information”. The order comes days after the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) extended the anti-COVID-19 restrictions, including a ban on social and cultural activities, till December 31 midnight.
The DDMA, in an order issued on December 15, said that the activities currently permitted and prohibited in Delhi will continue till the midnight (12.00 hrs) of December 31 and January 1. According to the SDM office, the owners of Andaz Hotel, Aerocity, in a letter dated December 13, had informed about the opening of their restaurant on December 18, 2021, which was expected to accommodate 400-500 guests.

“However, it has been brought to the notice of the undersigned through website like bookmyshow.com and other sources that a musical show by Shri AP Dhillon is hosted by you at your premises at Khubani, Andaz Hotel, Aerocity, Delhi,” the order said. Held on 18/12/21 from 10 PM onwards. “Therefore, you are directed to cancel the concert and related gathering as it is in violation of the order of DDMA,” it said.
The order said that any contravention of the directions would be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Section 188 of the IPC and other applicable laws. (agency)
