Pimpri: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has recovered a cache of illegal weapons sent through a well-known courier company. It consists of 97 swords, two kukri and 9 sheaths. This came to notice during the scanning being done by the courier company. After this, the Dighi Police seized a cache of weapons and arrested the four accused. They include Umesh Sood (Resident Amritsar, Punjab), Anil Hoan (Resident Aurangabad, Maharashtra), Maninder (Resident Amritsar, Punjab), Akash Patil (Resident Chitli, Rahata, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra).
Giving information about this in a press conference, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash said that a few days ago a stock of swords was found illegally in DTDC Courier Company in Aurangabad. In that regard all the courier companies were instructed to scan all the parcels carefully. Accordingly, courier companies are scanning the goods in their warehouse through X-ray machines. DTDC Courier Company has a central distribution center at Dighi and the company has a warehouse at Dighi. In this, the swords were found during the scanning of the parcel.

The accused Umesh Sood had sent the parcel to the accused Anil Hon in two wooden boxes in DTDC courier company. Inspection of the box by X-ray scanner on 1st April revealed a sword-like object in the box. The courier company informed Dighi police about this. According to this, the police have seized 92 swords, 2 cookers, 9 sheaths in two wooden boxes worth three lakh seven thousand. Accused Maninder had sent the parcel in sack cloth to accused Akash Patil. A sword-like object was found in the baggy clothes of DTDC Courier Company in Dighi in the X-ray scanning of the parcel. Accordingly, the police confiscated the cache of weapons.
Weapons were being sent from Punjab to Aurangabad
This consignment of weapons was being sent from Punjab to Aurangabad, although before that this parcel was caught by the police in Pune itself. Now the police is trying to know for what purpose this cache of illegal weapons was imported. Who else is involved in this? Dighi police is investigating the matter. Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash, Upper Commissioner Sanjay Shinde, Deputy Commissioner Manchak Ipar, Assistant Commissioner Prerna Katte, Senior Police Inspector Dighi Police Station Dilip Shinde, Police Inspector (Crime) Prakash Jadhav, Sub-Inspector Dnyaneshwar Dalvi, employee Amol Jadhav, Team of Shekhar Shinde, Hemant Dumbre executed it.
