Ranchi : In view of the increasing effect of corona infection in Ranchi district, Ranchi Municipal Corporation will intensify the work related to cleanliness and sanitization in the corporation area from Tuesday. Mayor Dr. Asha Lakra said these things after holding a review meeting with Health Branch officials on Monday.
He told that Ranchi Municipal Corporation is ready to prevent the spread of corona infection. There are 8-8 hand spray guns in each ward. Sanitization campaign will be started from 20 vehicles of the corporation from Tuesday. Every day 20 wards in the first shift and 6 wards in the second shift i.e. 26 wards will be covered in a day. Apart from this, cleaning of small and big drains will be done. Small drains in the streets and localities will also be cleaned. After cleaning the drains, sprinkling of chona and bleaching powder will also be done. He said that at present, 10 thousand liters of sanitizer, 8 thousand piece masks, 3,000 brooms, 2500 balchas, 200 hoe, 40 thousand kg pick and 1500 bags of bleaching powder are available in Ranchi Municipal Corporation’s store, which was purchased earlier.

The Mayor said that during the Corona period, two thousand rupees have to be paid in addition to the honorarium to the sanitation workers of the Municipal Corporation every month under the incentive amount. The sweepers risk their lives to clean the city. But at present the financial condition of Ranchi Municipal Corporation is not good. Demanding from the state government, he said that to maintain the morale of the sanitation workers, an amount of 5 crore should be made available to the Ranchi Municipal Corporation immediately.
Will also sanitize the house regularly
During this, Asha Lakra said that it was decided in the review meeting that the work related to cleanliness and sanitization would be monitored through the team of Zonal Supervisor, Supervisor and STF. If required, the zonal supervisor and STF team will also do the work of transporting the corona patients to the hospital. Along with this, the house where corona will be found infected, that house will also be regularly sanitized.
He said that if the Chief Minister does not announce the imposition of night curfew in the disaster management meeting, then arrangements for bonfires will also be made in different areas of the city through Ranchi Municipal Corporation. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Rajnish Kumar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Jyoti Kumar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sheetal Kumari, City Manager Robin Kumar, Health Branch in-charge Omkar Pandey were present in the meeting.
