New Delhi: Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury addressed Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia as ‘Maharaj’ in the House on Thursday, to which the minister said that he wants to inform the Congress leader that his name is Jyotiraditya Scindia. During the Question Hour in the House, there was a slight scuffle between the two leaders.
“One Maharaj is here and the other Maharaj ‘Air India’ is being privatized,” Choudhary said while asking supplementary questions related to the Ministry of Civil Aviation. After this he questioned about some airports in West Bengal. Replying to the supplementary question, Scindia said, “I want to inform the Congress leader that my name is Jyotiraditya Scindia. He has been discussing about my past time and again. I just wanted to inform them.”
During the Question Hour, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla asked the Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Puri to invite the MPs to the meetings of the advisors related to the smart city plan. “MPs are not invited to the meeting of the advisory committee. This is the pain of all MPs.” After this Birla also asked in the House whether the meeting was called, many MPs said, “No.”
Puri said that if the MPs want anything, they are ready to talk about it. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Narayan Rane, in response to a supplementary question related to his ministry, said that the MSME industry has been hit hard due to the Corona pandemic. Many have closed and many have started. He said that many initiatives were taken under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme. Under this scheme, Rs 2.8 lakh crore was spent to help MSME units.
