Mumbai: Kandivali Police and Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police raided three spas last week and allegedly ran a sex racket and obscene. At least 12 people, including five women, have been booked for indulging in the acts.
According to a report in the Indian Express, on February 11, acting on a tip-off in the first case, the Kandivali police sent a customer to a spa near MG Road in Kandivali (West) where the police got information about a sex racket allegedly running. . After this the police took action and registered an FIR under Section 370(3) of the IPC and Sections 3,4,5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. In this case, the police have rescued a woman and sent her to the women’s shelter home and arrested the owner and manager of the spa.

Apart from this, in another case also on February 11, the anti-human trafficking cell of MBVV police raided the spa. The police had received information that, in this case also, obscene acts were being carried out under the guise of spa. After the raid, the police have booked a woman, an employee working in the spa, manager and owner of the spa under sections 294 (obscene act) and 114 (abetment) of the IPC.
In the third case, on February 12, Kandivali police raided the spa in Kandivali (West). In this, legal action was taken against five women and two men for allegedly doing obscene acts.
