- Till now 38 criminals have been arrested, list of 40 ready
Ulhasnagar : The local police have started taking strict action against people with criminal background like treason and MPDA to crack down on the increasing crime in Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation area. To make Ulhasnagar crime free, the police action has come under the leadership of DCP Prashant Mohite and Assistant Commissioner of Police Motichand Rathod.
According to the information received, there are 8 police stations under Circle-4. On the proposal of DCP Thane Police Commissioner has taken action against 4 notorious goons under MPDA Act under which 39 year old Jagdish Tirathsinh Labana alias Jaggu Sardar was sent to Nashik Jail by Senior Police Inspector Rajendra of Ulhasnagar Police Station. It was Jaggu Sardar who vandalized the office of BJP’s state level leader Prakash Makhija for not giving money.

Talking to local reporters at Ulhasnagar police station, DCP Prashant Mohite said that earlier Swapnil Chandrakant Kande (19), Premchand alias Babu Punjabi alias Tatoo Manohar Dhakni (23) and Anil alias Anya Balu Dhivre (30) were also under MPDA. Taking action, all three have been sent to different jails. DCP Mohite said that 38 gangsters who committed theft, dacoity, burglary, assault, have been arrested under Maharashtra Police Act 56 to prevent and curb the crime graph in the city, including the upcoming municipal elections. A list of 40 people having criminal records has been prepared in Central, Shivajinagar, Hillline, Badlapur, Ambernath police areas under Circle 4.
