AAP’s Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant Mann may be party’s CM candidate in Punjab polls: Report
New Delhi: According to a big news, Bhagwant Mann can be a contender for the Chief Minister’s post (CM) from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022. Party sources gave this information.
According to media reports, the Aam Aadmi Party has made up its mind that the election will be fought in the name of Sangrur MP. The report further said that, the formal announcement may take time, as AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is Corona positive.

Let us tell you that Bhagwant Mann is the head of Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit. At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party also has the most popular faces in Punjab. Mann has been elected MP for the second time from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat of Punjab. It is noteworthy that Bhagwant Mann had reached the Lok Sabha from Sangrur for the first time in 2014 on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket. At the same time, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, AAP had to settle in only one Lok Sabha seat in the entire country. Which was won by Bhagwant Mann from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat.
It is noteworthy that AAP on Monday announced five more candidates for the Punjab Assembly elections. According to the party’s seventh list of candidates, Lalli Majithia has been given ticket from the Majitha assembly seat. Earlier, Majithia had left the Congress party and joined AAP on January 1.
At present, Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia is represented from Majitha seat. AAP said Ajay Gupta will contest from Amritsar Central seat, Kashmir Singh Sohal from Tarn Taran, Surinder Singh Sodhi from Jalandhar Cantt and Baljit Kaur from Malout. The total number of candidates declared by the main opposition party of Punjab now stands at 101.
