Farmers should take kharif as well as rabi and summer crops on a large scale, planning has been done for this, as a result, planning has been done for rabi and summer crops on 1 lakh 10 thousand hectares. At present, rabi sowing is on 86 thousand hectares. This figure is likely to go up to 1 lakh hectares.
In the review meeting of crop sowing taken by District Magistrate Prerna Deshbhratar, the concerned department presented information in the meeting, District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Anil Ingle, Atma’s project director Dr Vidya Mankar, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Ajay Raut, Lead Bank Manager Vaibhav Lahane, Officials of water resources and related departments were present.
Sowing status reviewed
Guardian Minister Sunil Kedar had given instructions to increase the area of Rabi and summer crop in the district. In particular, information was given about taking groundnut and summer soybean crop, on this lines, the District Magistrate had issued a meeting of the officials of the concerned department and issued appropriate guidelines. The Rabi season in the district is planned on 1 lakh 5 thousand hectare, out of which 86 thousand hectare. Sowing has been completed, maximum sowing is 72 thousand 500 hectares of gram crop, apart from this, the area of jowar, wheat and maize is 11 thousand 500 hectares, and other crops are said to be 160 hectares, seeds were made available in sufficient quantity for rabi and summer crops.
Farmers should get good crop in Rabi crop: Collector
A total of 50,000 quintal seeds were made available to the farmers, out of which 26 thousand 500 quintal seeds were made available for wheat and 19 thousand 500 quintal seeds were made available for gram crop, about 5 thousand quintal seeds have been arranged for summer groundnut, whereas every year in the district. Sowing of summer soybean crop will be used on a large scale. Summer soybean gets good price while production is also good, so for the first time this year summer soybean crop has been sown on 1000 hectares. Water is available for Rabi crop in the district. The District Magistrate has given instructions to pay attention to the Agriculture Department for taking benefits from the farmers.
