Chandigarh. Amidst the implementation of a law to provide 75 percent reservation in the private sector to local people seeking jobs in Haryana, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Sunday Said that this would create employment opportunities for thousands of youth. The Haryana State Local Candidates Employment Act, 2020 applies to jobs paying a maximum total monthly salary or wage of thirty thousand rupees and this law came into force from Saturday.
Chautala said in Sirsa that it is a “historic day” for the youth of Haryana. He said that the Labor Department has also created a dedicated portal, in which the companies of the state will have to inform about the vacancies and the government will keep a constant watch on it. Chautala said that the violation of any provision of this law is a punishable offense.

A helpline number has also been started, he said. It is noteworthy that providing 75 percent reservation in private sector jobs was a key election promise of Chautala’s Jannayak Janata Party (JJP). State Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had said in November that the law would be implemented from January 15, 2022.
The government had promised that this law would apply to a total monthly salary of Rs 50,000, but it clarified in a notification issued last year that the upper limit of the total monthly salary or wages under the said Act has been reduced from Rs 50,000 to Rs 30,000. .
