Nagpur. The 7-year-old boy was admitted to Mayo after illness. He needed blood but the financial condition is bad due to his father being a laborer. It became difficult for them to arrange blood. The Mayo administration has also refused any help, showing its helplessness. In Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital, blood is donated through social institutions. One person’s blood donation benefits three patients. Mayo also has a blood dissolution project, but due to non-dissolution of blood, there is a lack of blood.
It is said that due to lack of man power, the process of separating blood components has stopped. Its direct effect is being given to the poor patients. A complaint has been made in this regard by the Seva Foundation. In fact, the financial condition of the 7-year-old boy’s father Salman has become weak due to the lockdown. Due to the rare disease of the child, now bone marrow is the only option left. Blood is needed repeatedly in this disease. Treatment is going on with the money received from the help. The boy has been admitted to Mayo’s PICU since January 2.
blood dissolution project
In Mayo, platelets, muscle and other components are separated from the blood obtained from donating blood. But due to paucity of man power, the process has come to a halt. The administration is also not showing seriousness. Patients are advised to get the requirement from a private blood bank. The father has so far deposited 37 platelets blood units. 26,000 rupees were spent for this but now there is no money. This is the reason why he is upset.
The Mayo administration also showed its helplessness. Raj Khandare of Sewa Foundation told that when there is a blood dissolution project in Mayo, then it is the job of the administration to continue it regularly. Because of this, if the poor patients have a chance to wander, then the project has no meaning.
