After 1,109 more people were found infected with the corona virus in the country, the total number of infection cases has reached 4,30,33,067, while the number of patients under treatment has come down to 11,492. According to the updated data of the Union Health Ministry till 8 am on Friday, the death toll has risen to 5,21,573 with 43 more patients losing their lives.
The number of patients under treatment is 0.03 percent of the total cases of infection while the national rate of recovery from COVID-19 is 98.76 percent. According to the ministry, a decrease of 147 cases was registered in the number of patients undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The daily infection rate was 0.24 percent and the weekly infection rate was 0.23 percent. The number of people who have recovered from this disease has increased to 4,25,00,002 while the death rate is 1.21 percent.

Under the nationwide anti-COVID-19 vaccination campaign, 185,38 crore doses have been given so far. According to the data, out of 43 more patients who have lost their lives in the country, 36 people are from Kerala. So far 5,21,573 people have died due to this epidemic, out of which 1,47,806 in Maharashtra, 68,264 in Kerala, 40,056 in Karnataka, 38,025 in Tamil Nadu, 26,155 in Delhi, 23,498 in Uttar Pradesh and 21,200 in West Bengal. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it crossed 30 million. On January 26 this year, the cases had crossed four crores.
