New Delhi: After 122 new cases of ‘Omicron’, a new form of corona virus, were reported in India in the last 24 hours, the cases of this form in the country increased to 358. Of these, 114 people have become infection free or have migrated to other places. These cases were reported in 17 states and union territories.
The Union Health Ministry said on Friday that Maharashtra has the highest number of 88 cases of ‘Omicron’ nature, 67 in Delhi, 38 in Telangana, 34 in Tamil Nadu, 31 in Karnataka and 30 in Gujarat. According to the updated data released by the ministry at 8 am, after 6,650 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in India in a day, the number of infected in the country increased to 3,47,72,626.
At the same time, the number of patients under treatment has come down to 77,516. After the death of 374 more infected, the death toll increased to 4,79,133. According to the data, the daily cases of COVID-19 in the country for 57 consecutive days are less than 15 thousand. The number of patients under treatment has come down to 77,516, which is 0.22 percent of the total cases of infection. This rate is the lowest since March 2020. In the last 24 hours, there has been a decrease in the number of patients under treatment for COVID-19 by 775. The national recovery rate of patients is 98.40 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.
