According to the report received from the divisional administration, out of 89 lakh 82 thousand 452 people above the age of 18 in five districts, 49 lakh 28 thousand 164 people i.e. 54.86 percent have completed both their doses till 16 February. Whereas 75 lakh 35 thousand 633 citizens have protected themselves from infection by taking the first dose.

Perhaps due to this speed of vaccination, the effect of the third wave was less. According to experts, along with reducing the infection rate due to the effect of the vaccine, the corona in patients did not reach the critical stage. In the third wave also, thousands of citizens were found to be corona positive, but the chances of hospitalization came only short. The hospitalization rate was much lower in the third wave as compared to both the waves. Most of the patients got cured in home isolation. For this reason, most of the COVID hospitals remained deserted.
Amravati in the first, Washim in the second
According to the report received from the Divisional Commissionerate, the divisional headquarters Amravati district was at the forefront of the vaccination process. Whereas in the case of both the doses, the smallest Washim district of the division topped. In Amravati district, 19,87,415 (87.88%) have taken the first dose and 12,55,963 (55.54%) have taken the second dose. Whereas in Akola district 11,41,499 (80.12%) secured first, 7,11,022 (49.91%) second, Buldana 17,54,113 (83.33%) first and 11,16,215 (53.03%) second, Washim 8, 09,112 (82.37%) took the first dose, 6,30,168 (64.15%) took the second dose and in Yavatmal district 18,43,494 (83.45%) took the first and 12,14,796 (54.99%) citizens took the second dose.
65 thousand took the third dose
At the beginning of the third wave, the process of taking the third dose has also been started. In the division, 64 thousand 845 health workers and front line workers have taken booster doses. These include 22,737 of Amravati district, Akola 9650, Buldana 10268, Washim 6512, 15,678 health workers and front line workers of Yavatmal district.
