Gadchiroli. Due to lack of paved roads, culverts and lack of transport facilities, lakhs of citizens of Gadchiroli district are still not able to take advantage of the services of banks. Especially they have to remain deprived of government schemes. Taking this problem seriously, with the concept of District Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal and President of District Central Cooperative Bank Prachit Poreddywar, bank accounts of about 50 thousand citizens of villages settled in inaccessible areas will be opened in the branches of District Bank. There is no bank branch in this village, on the spot passbook will be given to the citizens by organizing camps in such villages. For this, the officers, employees and police personnel of the District Co-operative Bank will cooperate.
Lack of government bank branches in the district
In Gadchiroli district, even after 75 years of independence, many villages do not have government bank branches. Due to lack of service facilities including electricity, internet, there are very few government bank branches in the inaccessible areas. Due to which the citizens have to go to the tehsil headquarters for the work of the bank. The citizens of Sironcha, Bhamragad, Etapalli, Aheri and Korchi tehsils have to spend a day each at the tehsil headquarters. This situation has not improved even today. Despite the continuous demand for opening bank branches, government banks are reluctant to open branches in the inaccessible areas, citing the reason for the service facilities.
District Co-operative Bank extended a helping hand
Despite the lack of public sector banks in the inaccessible areas, the District Co-operative Bank has extended a helping hand by starting bank branches at many places in the district to provide banking facilities to the citizens. Due to which banking facility is being available to the people of rural and inaccessible areas. In future, the district bank has resolved to start a bank branch where the village is located. But due to lack of service facilities, there are problems in starting bank branches. But by appointing bank representatives at village level, banking facility will be made available to the people there.
