- Like Wardha Illegal abortion fears
Nagpur. There was a stir due to the finding of 5 embryos in the garbage heap in the Quetta Colony premises under the Lakadganj police station. On receiving the news, the police team reached the spot. A crowd of people gathered. On investigation, there is information about getting more organs. The police have seized the fetus and body parts and sent them for forensic examination. There is a ground in front of KT Wine Shop in Quetta Colony. Once upon a time there used to be a hospital here. Now people throw garbage near the compound. Every day the municipal vehicle comes here to collect the garbage.
During 4 pm, two children living in the campus went there for a briefing. Seeing the fetus in the garbage, both were terrified. Nearby shopkeepers Anil Jain, Sumit Padole, Venkatesh Naidu and Tushar Thackeray were informed. Jain immediately informed the Lakadganj police. Inspector Amita Jaipurkar reached the spot with her team. On examination, there were 5 embryos visible.
The matter was serious, so the forensic investigation team and the photography department were also called to the spot. DCP Gajanan Rajmane himself reached the spot. On examination, apart from the fetus, kidneys, bones and other organs were also found. All the remains were confiscated by the police and sent for forensic examination. It is being told that the five fetuses are of girls and must have been 6 to 7 months old.
Forensic investigation will reveal: DCP Rajmane
DCP Rajmane told the media that along with the fetus some organs were also found in the garbage. There are also medicine and medicine boxes. It seems that it is bio-medical waste but throwing embryo and bio-waste in this way is a serious matter, that is why the forensic team of the police has started investigating the case. It is difficult to tell gender by looking at the fetus. Anything can be said only after investigation. Footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is also being scrutinised. Further action will be taken after finding out who threw the bio-waste in the premises and when.
Is Nagpur the number after Wardha?
In January, the illegal abortion center running in Dr. Kadam’s hospital located in Arvi campus of Wardha was busted. This matter was in discussion all over the state. The work of disposing of the fetus was being done in the premises of the hospital. Instructions were given to check abortion centers and maternity hospitals in all the cities of the state. In such a situation, now the administration was shocked by the discovery of 5 embryos in the garbage heap in Nagpur. Suspicions are being raised that the embryos are of illegal abortions. There is a separate department of the Municipal Corporation to dispose of Bio Medical Waste. Medical waste is collected and destroyed from all the hospitals. In such a situation, the matter has become serious by throwing the fetus in the garbage outside like this. Are such abortion centers running in Nagpur like Wardha?
