Despite this, the number of corona infected is increasing day by day. In the grip of this, the frontline workers who are at the fore for the prevention of Corona are also coming. It also includes the policemen who have the responsibility of prevention of corona along with law and order. Due to this, the Home Department of the State Government has given permission to the policemen above 55 years of age to work from home. According to this, 48 officers and 355 employees of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have got relief, a total of 403 employees have got relief.
In Pimpri-Chinchwad city, along with the new variant of corona, Omicron, the infection of corona is also spreading very fast. Concern has increased due to getting one thousand infected in a day on Friday. In these circumstances, the police are in direct contact with their citizens while performing their duties. With this, the possibility of police personnel getting infected with corona cannot be ruled out. Police personnel above the age of 55 are suffering from many other diseases. At the same time, patients of high blood pressure, sugar, heart are vulnerable to corona infection. Therefore, giving priority to their safety, it has been decided to give them the facility to work from home.

The police personnel working under the work from home will be entrusted with the responsibility of investigation of various criminal cases like documents, completion of reports, review etc. After the announcement of the state government’s Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil, the Home Department has recently issued its orders. There is acute shortage of manpower in Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. At present there are 3275 employees in the Commissionerate. This includes 403 officers and employees above the age of 55. 48 officers and 355 employees are in the above 55 age group. Among them are 305 assistant sub-inspectors of police and 50 constables. All of them have been given the option of work from home.
