Pune: In view of Corona Epidemic, action has been taken against about 10 lakh citizens of Pune district for violating restrictions and not wearing masks and they have been charged Rs 45 crore 73 lakh 21 thousand 563. In view of the Corona epidemic, the district administration had imposed various rules and regulations on the citizens as a precaution as per the instructions of the Central and State Governments from time to time. Masks were also made mandatory. Despite the instructions of the administration, many citizens are still not wearing masks and are not following the rules. Punitive action is being taken against such citizens. Police, police friends, health workers, municipal employees have been given the right to collect fines. According to the district administration, so far 10 lakh citizens have been punished in Pune district and a fine of Rs 45 crore 73 lakh 21 thousand 563 has been recovered from them.

The highest fine collected in the district is of Pune Municipal Corporation and Rs 28 crore fine has been imposed on 5 lakh 68 thousand citizens of the corporation area. Along with this, a fine of Rs 6 crore 90 lakh has been recovered by taking action against 1 lakh 12 thousand 697 citizens who violate the rules in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation limits. A fine of Rs 11 crore 53 lakh has been imposed on 3 lakh 23 thousand rowdy citizens of rural areas of Pune district as part of preventive measures. In the district last week i.e. from December 2 to December 8, a fine of Rs 5 lakh 72 thousand has been collected from the citizens for violating the rules. During the week 894 civilians were punished. The maximum number of cases have been registered by the police administration in Pimpri municipal area and a fine of Rs 3 lakh 63 thousand has been collected from 524 citizens.
