Pune: Project worth thousands of crores is starting in Pune city at the same time. Will the funds be available for infrastructure facilities in other parts if provision is made primarily for these projects? Such concerns were being expressed. Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kumar has clarified his stand on this. He has said that Rs 200-200 crore is given to developers from credit notes and credit bonds. In such a situation, it will not affect the funds of other projects. The river improvement project is being run through the Pune Municipal Corporation. It was introduced on Wednesday. Vikram Kumar was talking to reporters on the same occasion. He said that for many big projects, using options like Credit Bonds, Credit Notes, there will be an income of about Rs 400 crore every year.
He said that for the river improvement project, a total income of five thousand crores would be there. In the first phase, Rs 350 crore will be spent by the Municipal Corporation, while in the second phase Rs 600 crore will be done through credit notes on the principle of PPP. Along with this, tenders have also been issued for eight roads and two flyovers in Mundhwa, flyover in Gangadham Chowk, grade separator and alternate road. About one thousand crores will be spent on all these schemes. This is also being done on PPP principle.

Vikram Kumar said that a credit bond will be given in this. The Municipal Corporation has to spend Rs 1600 crore on these projects. 250 crores every year for Uniform Water Supply Scheme, 100 crores for drainage line in 11 villages included, additional 200 crores every year for Seventh Pay Commission, 200 crores for PMPML, 1500 crores on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Municipality will do.
The Pune Municipal Corporation currently has an income of 6 thousand crores, most of which will be spent on salaries and big projects. In such a situation, non-essential expenditure will have to be controlled through the financial committee. Many big projects like river improvement project, road, flyover, equitable water distribution scheme will start in the city. Using options like credit bonds, credit notes for these big projects will generate an income of about Rs 400 crore every year. Similarly, several options are being considered like renting out amenity space, increasing property tax, recovering dues. This will provide development fund for the city.
