Mumbai: There will be a 36-hour infrastructure block on the Up and Down slow lines from Saturday between Thane and Kalwa stations of Central Railway. During this cut and connection work will be done to start the newly laid track and crossover in respect of Thane-Diva 5th and 6th lines. There will be a block from 2 pm on Saturday to 2 am on Monday.
The newly laid track between Thane and Vitava Road Under Bridge will be cut and connected to the existing Down and Up slow lines. Similarly, 7 Tower Wagons, 3 Unimat for carrying out engineering, electrical and signal and telecommunication works for commissioning of crossover, turn out, derailing switches in respect of yard remodeling and changes in interlocking arrangement at Thane and Kalwa during the block period. / Duomatic machine, 2 diesel multi locos, one ballast rake, 1 dBkm etc. will be used.

Up slow/semi fast services leaving Kalyan from 1 PM to 2 PM on Saturdays will be diverted between Kalyan and Matunga on Up fast line and not at Thakurli, Kopar, Mumbra, Kalwa, Nahur, Kanjurmarg and Vidyavihar stations. Further they will be redirected to Up slow line.

Up slow/semi fast services after 2 PM will be diverted on Up fast line between Kalyan and Mulund. It will not stop at Thakurli, Kopar, Mumbra and Kalwa stations. Dn slow/semi fast services leaving Dadar from 12.54 to 1.52 hrs on Saturday will be diverted to Dn fast line between Mulund and Kalyan stations without halting at Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg, Nahur, Kalwa, Mumbra, Kopar and Thakurli stations. . After 2 PM, Dn slow/semi fast services will be diverted between Mulund and Kalyan stations on Dn fast line and will not stop at Kalwa, Mumbra, Kopar and Thakurli stations.

Passengers traveling from Kalwa, Mumbra, Kopar and Thakurli stations can travel in trains from Thane, Diva, Dombivli and Kalyan respectively. According to CPRO Shivaji Sutar, the railway administration has made arrangements to run buses in coordination with the municipal bodies for the convenience of the passengers. Local services originating/terminating from Dombivli will not be available during the entire block period. During the block period, the slow local will halt at the fast line platform at Thane, Dombivli and Diva. On Monday the locals will run as per the scheduled.
