The accused used to steal at least 2 vehicles every day. Sometimes this number would increase. The special thing is that within 24 hours the parts and parts of stolen vehicles were also separated. The police suspect that the accused have stolen more than 120 vehicles. The names of the accused are Vinay alias Vicky Rajbahadur Shahu (23), resident of Binaki Mangalwari, Bhushan Shamrao Bargat (21) resident of Baranal Chowk and Temkumar alias Baniya Chandrabhan Shahu (30), resident of Tulsinagar. On the behest of the accused, a total of Rs 24.36 lakh including the truck was recovered. It also includes many vehicles.
500 rupees per day’s wage
DCP Manish Kalvania told that Vicky is the main accused. He had hired two youths for a daily wage of Rs 500 to steal and cut vehicles. In these, Vicky’s cousin Bhushan was given the task of stealing a two-wheeler, while the third accused Temkumar had come to Vicky’s garage and given the task of cutting the stolen vehicles. Vicky was earlier involved in petty thefts like e-rickshaw. Then his ravenous mind decided this method of theft. He, along with Bhushan, used to steal such vehicles whose handle lock was open. While towing each other, the two used to steal a two-wheeler and escape.

Vicky is a very smart thief. He had intentionally involved his relatives in this business. Bhushan used to work till 5 pm with a target of 2 vehicles every day. Vicky used to send her away by giving 500 rupees. The next day, Tekram used to cut the trains from around 11 am to 5 pm and take his 500 rupees. After this, Vicky used to fill all the goods in his pickup van and sell it to different people. The police have also caught a junkyard near which Vicky used to sell iron. In the relationship, he is Vicky’s brother-in-law. The police seized goods worth 24.36 lakh including the truck from here.
Work started from 60 days
During interrogation, the accused told that they have been doing this work for the last 60 days. According to the target of 2 vehicles every day, till now 120 vehicles have been stolen and disposed of. Although the police suspect that they are involved in this business for a long time. The police got secret information that something suspicious was seen in a garage in Yashodharanagar. After this the police raided. Police found a stolen two-wheeler (MH49/AG-9859) of Ganesh Shamrao Dharmic (38), a resident of Dhammadeepnagar, from there. Apart from this, about 30 to 40 two-wheeler seats were also found from there. After this, the police arrested Vicky and arrested the rest of the accused.
Cases are registered in many police stations
During the intense interrogation, the accused exposed their exploits. He told the police that so far they have executed 50 to 60 small and big thefts. These include many vehicle thefts including trucks. After this, the police searched the records of thefts as told by them, and it was found that these incidents were registered in Panchpavali, Jaripatka, Kapilnagar, Lakarganj, Kotwali, Shantinagar and other police stations besides Yashodhananagar police station. On the spot of the three accused, the police recovered goods worth Rs 24.36 lakh including the truck.
