Navi Mumbai: Business is being done in a strange way by traders in the vegetable market of APMC located in Vashi, where on one hand vegetables are sold in bulk in this market, while on the other hand only in this market. Vegetables are sold illegally in retail by traders at a distance of 100 meters, where there is a case of traders selling vegetables to customers at double to triple the price compared to wholesale, while vegetables in bulk are being sold at lower prices. Due to getting ) the farmer is becoming poor.
It is worth mentioning that about 600 vehicles of vegetables arrive every day in the vegetable market of APMC located in Vashi. Which is the business of selling in bulk in the e-wing of this market. There is a D wing at a distance of 100 meters from this wing, where the same vegetables are sold illegally in retail. Traders doing business in this wing are doing the work of robbing the customers by selling 30 to 80 rupees a kg of vegetables they buy in bulk from E-wing for 15 to 40 rupees per kg.

About which the APMC administration is informed from time to time by some people, yet it has not taken any action against those doing business in retail in the mandi. It is said that due to the blessings of some operators of APMC, this Gorakh business is being done in the mandi.

Need to curb retail business in Mandi
Rajaram Toke, president of Shetkari Sanstha, told Navbharat that farmers are suffering huge losses due to those selling vegetables in retail in the wholesale market. Many times, those doing business by taking a shop on rent in the market, ask for vegetables worth lakhs of rupees from the farmers in their name and after selling it, they get stunned, due to which they keep looking for such traders, but the traders do not get their hands. The Chief Minister and the Marketing Minister of the state should take concrete steps to stop this kind of fraud with the farmers.
In the vegetable market, the wing where traders are doing retail business will be inspected. Action will be taken against the traders who are found guilty in this case.
