Akola. Under Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Nagari Backward Classes Basti Improvement Scheme, out of the amount of Rs 20 crore approved by the state government, Rs 17 crore 48 lakh 93 thousand 811. Administrative approval has been received for 137 works. Therefore, this work will start before the model code of conduct for the municipal elections is implemented. It is noteworthy that a few days ago the administration had ordered 111 works worth Rs 10 crore.
The government had sanctioned Rs 10 crore under Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Nagri Backward Classes Basti Improvement Scheme in the first phase and Rs 20 crore in the second phase. This fund is allocated according to the population of the Scheduled Castes in the division. With this fund, various development works like asphaltization of roads, concretization, construction of drains, electricity system, toilets, bathrooms, pavers etc. will be done in different divisions.
In the second phase of Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Nagari Backward Classes Settlement Improvement Scheme, with an amount of Rs 20 crore, Municipal Corporation had sent works worth Rs 17 crore 98 lakh 93 thousand 811 for administrative approval and Rs 50 lakh. works were cancelled. After receiving the site inspection report of these works from the Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare, administrative approval has been given after examining the technical aspects, work-wise site inspection report and estimates.
Work to begin before the Code of Conduct
Municipal code of conduct can come into force at any time. But after the administrative approval of these works and completion of the tender process, the Municipal Corporation will be able to issue immediate orders for these development works. So all these work will start before the code of conduct.
