Amravati. Child Line, working 24 hours for the safety of children at Badnera Railway Station, has given a helping hand to about 100 children since September 16, 2020. Out of these, 78 children have been sent to safe places and homes by the order of the Child Welfare Committee.
Helping children in distress of all kinds
Child line (1098) room was started on platform number 1 of Badnera railway station from 16 September 2020 under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme through Prakalp Disha Sanstha. Three employees including one lady employee are working at this place round the clock in each shift. Children in distress at railway station, in train or in railway station premises, missing children, runaway or homeless children, homeless children, children with disabled parents, abducted children, sexually exploited children, child labour, need of education Child Line helps all the children who are in any crisis.
Children coming in contact with Railway Child Line are taken before the Child Welfare Committee with the help of Railway Police. The committee then, after considering the interests of the child and making appropriate inquiries, hands the child over to the parents or keeps them in a safe place, that is, a children’s home.
Help to 13 out of state children
Director of Disha Sanstha Ed. Under the guidance of Jyoti and Pravin Khandpasole, Railway Child Line is working for the children. Out of 100 children helped, 64 are boys and 36 are girls. Out of this, 13 boys are from the district outside the state of Maharashtra. Similarly, Child Line has provided 10 missing, 61 found, 10 child laborers, three children run away from home, educational assistance to two children, 2 childcare, 2 child sexual abuse victims, 2 medical aid and food to 9 children. In this, Child Welfare Committee members Mina Dandale, Anjali Ghulakshe, District Child Protection Officer Ajay Duble, PI Narwar of RPF, API Ajitsing Rajput and the team of Child Line have worked hard.
