Mumbai: In Maharashtra, on the one hand, the work of giving booster dose has been started for protection against Coronavirus. On the other hand, there are 1 crore people who have not taken the first dose of the vaccine. According to the officials of the Health Department, despite the tireless efforts of the government, people are not coming to get the vaccine. They are playing with their own life as well as with the lives of others.
Maharashtra has performed very well in terms of vaccination, but the saying goes, neither the elephant has left, but the question remains. In the state till January 26, 8 crore 28 lakh 86 thousand, 303 people aged 18 and above have taken the first dose of the vaccine, while 1 crore 2 lakh 36 thousand 648 people have not taken the first dose of the vaccine.

free vaccination
A senior health department official said that we can explain to the people, set up camps near their homes, but we cannot force them to get vaccinated. The consequences of those who do not take the vaccine are in front. Taking vaccine is helping a lot in fighting the disease, so people should understand and come forward for vaccination voluntarily. People don’t even need to spend money. Free vaccination is being done at government and municipal centers. Till now no serious side effect of vaccine has been seen, so why negligence.
10 lakh Thanekar did not take the first dose
Though Thanekar does not lag behind anyone, but in the case of not taking the first dose of vaccine, the figures are more than other districts. Second stop difficult for Mumbai, Pune and Bhandara
The target of the first dose of the beneficiaries of the age of 18 and above in these districts of Mumbai, Pune and Bhandara in the state has been met, but the second phase seems a bit difficult for them. In Mumbai, 96.41 percent people have taken the second dose, in Bhandara 85.40 percent, in Pune 84.47 percent, in Sindhudurg 81.47 and in Raigad 80.94 percent have taken the second dose. There has been no increase in these figures in the last few weeks.
Over 30.5 lakhs in the age group of 15 to 17
There are 60 lakh beneficiaries in the state between the ages of 15 and 17, in which 30 lakh 62 thousand 811 adolescents have been vaccinated in the state till Thursday. In Mumbai, 2 lakh 31 thousand 861 adolescents were vaccinated, while in the city there are 9 lakh beneficiaries of the above age group.
There are some people who think that the epidemic will end so they are not taking the vaccine. Some sections are also against the vaccine, who are creating confusion about the vaccine in others as well. So some district officials say that the numbers which were initially estimated for vaccination have declined or are less.
