PM Fasal Bima Yojana: Central and state governments are running many schemes to increase the income of farmers. Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme (PMFBY) was launched on 13 January 2016. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance in case of crop failure due to unseasonal damage or any natural calamity. However, farmers will get its benefit only if they have already registered for the crop insurance scheme. Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh) Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel on Sunday said that 20 lakh farmers of the state will get Rs 4,688 crore under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. This amount will be transferred to the farmers’ account on 16 September.

20 lakh farmers will get the benefit

Patel said that with one click by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the outstanding amount of crop insurance for the year 2019 will be sent to the accounts of 20 lakh farmers, about Rs 4,688 crore. He said that the date of nomination under the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme was extended to 7 September in the flood-affected districts.

Aim to benefit 11 crore farmers

Under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, the farmer can insure his crop. This scheme is applicable in every state of the country. The central government has set a target of giving the benefit of a crop insurance scheme to 11 crore farmers in the financial budget 2020-21.
