What is Kisan Rail?
Actually, Kisan Rail will be a special parson train in which it can be used to carry grains, fruits and vegetables. In the Budget 2020, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced Kisan Rail. It is a rail service run on PPP model, which will deliver the produce, fruits and vegetables grown by farmers directly to the mandi. In this, there is a provision of giving 50 percent subsidy to farmers in freight. That is, the cost of transporting their produce to the mandis will be reduced for the farmers. At the same time, time will also be saved. Fresh fruits and vegetables will reach the mandis in a short time. Farmer trains will be fully air-conditioned.
Beneficial for both farmers and consumers
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Kisan Rail as beneficial for both farmer and consumer. He said that this will reduce the opportunities for those who play the game of reducing and increasing the prices of fruits and vegetables. In fact, such facilities will not have a shortage of fresh fruits and vegetables in the markets even during bad weather or other crises such as floods etc. and the game of reducing and increasing prices will stop.
It will be cold storage running on the railway line in a way. In fact, to keep fruits and vegetables fresh, Kisan Rail has been made fully air-conditioned. Due to this, there will be safe transportation of perishable agricultural products, while there will be less fare. This will encourage farmers to increase production of milk and fruits and vegetables.
