PM Modi in Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Conference-cum-Expo in Lucknow on 5th October on the Amrit Mahotsav of the country’s independence. On this occasion, he handed over the keys of their dream homes to 75 thousand people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) housing scheme. This event will run for three days i.e. till 7 October. Inaugurating this event, he handed over the keys to the beneficiaries of PMAY-U housing scheme through online medium and also interacted with them.

At the Indira Gandhi Foundation in Lucknow, PM Modi along with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and UP Governor Anandiben Patel visited three exhibitions put up at the expo. He also inquired about the Ayodhya Development Master Plan.

Under PM Awas Yojana, 80% of the ownership rights belong to women
Prime Minister Modi informed that in the houses being given under the PM Awas Yojana in the country, more than 80 percent of the houses are owned by women or they are jointly owned. The Prime Minister claimed that since the formation of his government in 2014, 1.13 crore houses have been approved in cities under this scheme and out of this, more than 50 lakh houses have been built and handed over to the poor.
