New Delhi: Today is the birthday of Indian boxer Manoj Kumar (Manoj Kumar Birthday). He was born on this day in the year 1986 in a small village Rajond in Kaithal district of Haryana. Manoj was already focused on athletics. But, he came into view when he won the Gold Medal in Boxing in the Commonwealth Games held in the year 2010. He has won many medals in his name.
Manoj Kumar’s father Sher Singh is a retired soldier from the Indian Army. At the same time, his elder brother Rajesh Kumar had a full hand in attracting his attention towards athletics. His elder brother also won a gold medal in boxing at the university championships. After winning this medal, Rajesh felt that one day he would become a part of the national team, but it did not happen. After this he brought his younger brother Manoj Kumar to boxing.

Manoj’s elder brother Rajesh trained him in boxing and helped him a lot in leaving Judo behind. Manoj used to practice judo earlier, but if he has become a known name in boxing then it is only because of his elder brother Rajesh. Full credit for this goes to him. Manoj used to use bicycle tires for his early days of training.
Manoj Kumar was first noticed when he won the gold medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. After this Manoj also traveled to the quarter finals in the Amateur Boxing Championship held in the year 2011. Manoj was also involved in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London, in which he lost to the then No 1 boxer player in Round 16. After that Manoj also participated in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in which he had to be out of round 16. Then in the year 2016, Manoj won the gold medal in his category in the South Asian Games. Manoj Kumar won the bronze medal in the India Open International Boxing Tournament held in India in the year 2018.
