On Wednesday, gold fell by Rs 48 and on Thursday by Rs 861. Talking about the last week, a total fall of Rs 882 was recorded in the prices of gold during the whole week.
declining investment
On the one hand, there is a continuous fluctuation in the prices of gold and silver, while the investment in gold ETFs has decreased. In fact, investment in gold ETFs in May declined by 57 per cent to Rs 288 crore as compared to the previous month due to investors turning to the stock markets. Asset under management (AUM) of gold ETFs rose 6 per cent to Rs 16,625 crore at the end of May, from Rs 15,629 crore at the end of April, despite declining investment in gold ETFs.
Gold cheaper by Rs 7000 from record high
Gold prices are still Rs 7,000 less than the record high. In August last year, the price of gold had reached Rs 56,200 per 10 grams. This year gold is about Rs 7,000 less than the record high as compared to last year.
