Navi Mumbai : The rolling stock (coach, electrical etc.) of Navi Mumbai Metro prepared by CIDCO has been approved by the Ministry of Railways. Cidco MD Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee informed the media about the approval of Navi Mumbai Metro coaches and electrical system by the Ministry of Railways.
It is worth noting that the Navi Mumbai Metro Line-1, being developed by CIDCO, covers a distance of 11.1 km from Belapur to Pendra (Taloja). There are total 11 metro stations on this route. In the first phase on this route, the preparations for starting the Metro service from Central Park in Kharghar to Pendra in Taloja are almost complete. For which safety trial was done. There are 5 metro stations between this distance of 5.14 km. For this, now the approval of rolling stock has been received from the Ministry of Railways. On this part of the first phase, the trial balance of the construction work is left, if the trial is successful, the Metro service will start between Kharghar’s Central Park to Pendra on Metro Line-1.

Maha Metro will operate Phase-1
CIDCO Vice President and Managing Director Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee informed that in order to further strengthen the public transport system in Navi Mumbai by trains, CIDCO is developing 4 elevated routes under Navi Mumbai Metro. The first phase of the Navi Mumbai Metro is approximately 11.1 km from Belapur to Pendhar, with 11 stations and a car depot at Taloja. The contract for the operation of Phase-I from Belapur to Pendhar was given to Maha Metro. Till now Metro has successfully completed the examination related to Oscillation, Electrical Safety, Emergency Brake etc and obtained the certificate from RDSO.
Navi Mumbai Metro project is now in the final stage
It may be mentioned that on 17th and 18th January 2022, CMRS team visited the route no. Metro safety tests were conducted at Taloja depot. On successful completion of the supervision of the construction work, the CMRS and Railway Board will give the green signal to start passenger transport directly. CIDCO MD Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee informed that after completion of monitoring of Navi Mumbai Metro, Navi Mumbai Metro will be ready for Line-1 implementation in Phase I. Now the Navi Mumbai Metro project is in the final stages of commissioning.
The safety tests conducted by CMRS and subsequent certification will be crucial for the commencement of passenger transport on Navi Mumbai Metro Line-1. After achieving this, the dream of the citizens of Navi Mumbai to travel in the metro will soon come true.
