MumbaiMaharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has attacked Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman after presenting the Union Budget 2022. He said, the Finance Minister has continued the tradition of doing injustice to Maharashtra, which pays the highest tax to the country. The Center collected a total GST of Rs 2 lakh 20 thousand crore in the current financial year. Out of this, Rs 48,000 crore was recovered from Maharashtra. At the same time, in lieu of Central GST, Maharashtra has got back only five and a half thousand crore rupees. He has also said that it is impossible to ascertain what Maharashtra got in the budget.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said like the previous budget this year’s budget is “futile”. After completely failing the promise of providing 2 crore jobs every year, now a new liar of 60 lakh jobs is being done this year. The announcement of LIC’s IPO is a step towards privatization of a for-profit state-owned company. Claiming that this budget is the blue print of development for the next 25 years. It’s all pointless.

The budget is a failed attempt to win the hearts and minds of the people in the five states where elections are being held. He said, the Union Finance Minister, who announced to make the defense sector self-reliant, should now answer that the Central Government has done in this direction in the last eight years. He also said that, like the announcements of ‘Make in India’, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, this year’s budget announcement will also spread.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that no major announcement has been made in the budget to reduce inflation and increase employment. However, the corporate tax has been reduced from 18% to 15%. However, the absence of any announcement regarding raising the income tax limit and reducing the tax rate has once again disappointed the middle class employees and common taxpayers. It was also announced to reduce mobile and electronics items in the budget. Diamond jewelery became cheaper.
Whereas, the central government forgot to reduce the tax on essential items like petrol, diesel and cooking gas. It shows their priority. The decision to reduce subsidy on fertilizers to farmers along with foodgrains to the poor is unjust. Ajit Pawar also said that the poor, deprived sections and farmers will be affected by that budget.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said tauntingly that, once again it is clear that the present central government is running on publicity. We have seen that sixty-five cameras are being installed for a program of the Central Government. From this perspective, the decision of the Union Finance Minister to reduce the tax on camera lenses seems appropriate.
