Mumbai: No new tax has been imposed in the budget of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation in the election year, but to complete various projects, the BMC has collected Rs 7,756.40 crore from its reserve fund. Will take loan BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal presented the budget for the year 2022-23 before the Standing Committee of BMC.
In the budget of Rs 45,949.21 crore, emphasis has been laid on completing the old schemes. This year’s budget is Rs 6,850.38 crore or 17.70 percent more than the budget of Rs 39,038.83 crore presented last year. The effect of the global pandemic Corona has also been seen in the budget of BMC.

In the budget of 2022-23, ample funds have been made available for major projects like Coastal Road, Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, project to make sea water potable, sewerage water treatment plant. The project of 100 MW capacity solar power and hydroelectric power plant has been mentioned in the budget of BMC.

Focus on education and health
