Mumbai: No new tax has been imposed in the budget of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation in the election year, but to complete various projects, the BMC has allocated 7,756.40 from its reserve fund. Will take loan of Rs. BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal presented the budget for the year 2022-23 before the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation. In the budget of Rs 45,949.21 crore, emphasis has been laid on completing the old schemes. This year’s budget is 6,850.38 crores or 17.70 percent more than the budget of 39,038.83 crores presented last year. The effect of the global pandemic Corona has also been seen in the budget of the Municipal Corporation.
At the same time, on the BMC budget, BJP MP Manoj Kotak said that BMC has not been able to provide proper roads and basic facilities for common Mumbaikars for the last 25 years. The BMC has made a provision of Rs 2,200 crore for the construction of the road in this budget, so that as usual, the contractors can get money by filling their pockets and Mumbaikars will go back to the potholes when the rains start.
