Mumbai: BMC is the richest municipality in the country. This is the reason that all eyes are on the BMC Budget 2022-23. In this episode, BMC presented the budget today i.e. on Thursday. In this budget, BMC has decided to allow private and government companies to set up Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (PEVCS) in public parking spaces of BMC. LOI has been issued for setting up PEVCS at 12 such locations.
Last year, Maharashtra Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray inaugurated an EV charging station in the parking lot of the Kohinoor building in Dadar. After which he had said that this step has been taken to promote the use of electric vehicles and to protect the environment. Along with this, a better step was told in the direction of making the electric vehicle friendly.

It may be mentioned that BMC had earlier presented a budget of 33 thousand crores in the financial year 2021-20. Whereas BMC had presented a total budget of 39 thousand crores in the last financial year 2021-22. At the same time, this year it has announced its budget of Rs 45,949 crore for the financial year 2022-23, which is 17 percent more than last year.
