India’s first paperless budget
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country’s first paperless budget on 1 February 2021.
Cinema hall will open with full capacity
The government has allowed theaters to start with 100 percent seating capacity. Now the capacity of the cinema hall was limited to a maximum of 50 per cent. Apart from this, permission has also been given to open swimming pools for all.
Digital Voter ID Card
From February 1, all voters will be able to download their digital voter ID card, if their mobile number is linked to the Election Commission. The e-voter card will now be available in PDF format and cannot be edited. Voters can print the digital voter ID card if required and can also be laminated.
IRCTC e-catering service will resume
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will resume e-catering services from today (1 February 2021). In the first phase, e-catering services will start at only 62 stations. New Delhi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Surat, Pune, Ahmedabad, Howrah, Patna, Vijayawada, Ernakulam, Ujjain and Panvel railway stations have been selected in the first phase.
Changes in ATM withdrawal rules
Punjab National Bank customers may have trouble withdrawing cash from ATMs from today. The bank had said in a tweet that from 1 February 2021, the bank’s card would not work in a non-EMV ATM machine. The bank had said that it has been decided to stop fraudulent use of ATM machines. The bank has said in a tweet that to prevent any kind of fraud at its ATM, transactions have been banned from ATM machines with non-EMV.
