New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday termed the Union Budget for the year 2022-23 presented in Parliament as “visionary” and claimed it would prove to be a “scale changer” of India’s economy. Appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the budget, Shah said that this budget will make India “self-reliant” as well as lay the foundation for a new India of the 100th year of independence.
Shah said in a series of tweets that the “self-reliant India’s budget” will be helpful in making India the world’s leading economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by exploiting the opportunities created in the global economic world after Corona. He said, “Increasing the size of the budget to 39.45 lakh crore, shows the fast growing economy of India even in the Corona era. Reducing the fiscal deficit target from 6.9 percent to 6.4 percent is a huge achievement.
This budget, brought by the Modi government, is a visionary budget, which will prove to be a budget to change the scale of India’s economy.

He expressed confidence that India would be able to bring down the fiscal deficit below 4 per cent under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Shah said that today the Prime Minister has reduced the AMT rate in the cooperative sector from 18.5 percent to 15 percent and the surcharge from 12 percent to 7 percent, ending the injustice done to the cooperative sector for decades and bringing it at par with the rest of the sectors. . He said, “This will work to prove the resolve of prosperity with the cooperation of Modi ji.”
Referring to the provisions made for the agriculture sector in the budget, the Union Minister said that various efforts like zero budget farming, natural farming, interlinking of rivers, one station-one product and farmer drones would benefit the farmers as well as agriculture sector. Will play an important role in realizing the Prime Minister’s resolve to make India modern and self-reliant. He lauded Prime Minister Modi for increasing the capital investment by 35 per cent to 7.5 lakh crore and said that the increase in the amount given to the states from 15000 crores to 1 lakh crores testifies to his efforts to continuously strengthen the federal structure.
Shah said that connecting all 1.5 lakh post offices with core banking to promote financial inclusion will greatly benefit the rural people and senior citizens. Along with this, 75 digital banks will also be set up in 75 districts to encourage digital payments. He said, “Prime Minister Modi is determined to improve the standard of living of the poor. Giving impetus to this resolve, he has decided to provide pure drinking water to 3.83 crore houses from Rs.60000 crores to Rs.60000 crores under Har Ghar Jal Yojana and Rs.48000 crores to 80 lakhs poor houses under PM Awas Yojana.
He said that the development of North Eastern states is the top priority of the Modi Government and the announcement of “PM Development Initiative” for Northeast is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to make the states prosperous there. (agency)
