Every year on February 10, “International Pulses Day” i.e. World Pulses Day is celebrated. The basic objective of celebrating this day is to promote the production of pulses. And in order to tell how important the consumption of pulses is for us and to make people aware of the importance of pulses, 2016 was declared as the International Year of Pulses for the first time. But, the process of celebrating ‘World Pulses Day’ started from 10 February 2018.
The United Nations sponsors this program. Pulses contain many nutrients. Therefore, the United Nations wants to eradicate malnutrition from the poorest countries by increasing the production of pulses. Let us know the purpose and history of celebrating “International Pulses Day”…
According to experts, in the race of modernity, due to the prevalence of fast food, the use of pulses in our food is becoming very less. Due to this, the body is not getting complete nutrition. Which has adverse effects on the health of the people, especially children and youth. This ‘International Pulses Day’ is celebrated with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of pulses for the health and food security of the people and to include them in the consumption of pulses.
