Boston is simply getting stronger.
The tenth annual “A Leg Forever” charity golf event at Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover was a sellout Monday as 158 contestants pitched in $250 per participant to assist Boston Marathon bombing victims cope.
“It’s humbling,” stated Liz Norden, whose sons J.P. and Paul misplaced their proper legs within the 2013 explosions on the end line on Boylston Street.
But that’s not what this August event is about. It is about resilience. Community. This metropolis. And the indomitable spirit present in true Bostonians.
“I’m proud today. Proud of JP, Paul and Liz for doing this every year. They don’t get enough credit,” stated Marc Fucarile, who practically died when the bombs bought him, too.
Fucarile stated the “kindness and generosity of others” give marathon survivors energy.
